By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Orange Walk Town have recovered a quantity of suspected cannabis found stashed in a garbage bin, with no arrests made.
According to the Belize Police Department, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, between 7:35 a.m. and 7:50 a.m., officers conducted a walk-through along Beaza Alley. During the exercise, an officer’s attention was drawn to a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance, suspected to be cannabis, inside a blue garbage bin.
With no one in the immediate area, the suspected drugs were retrieved and taken to the Orange Walk Police Station as found property.
At the station, the suspected cannabis was weighed at 22.75 grams, then sealed and labelled as found property.
No one has been arrested or charged in connection with the find, and the matter remains under police attention.
