Prime Minister extends Labour Day greetings

By Zoila Palma:  Belizeans across the country are observing Labour Day 2026 today, May 1, in recognition of the contributions of workers to national development.

Prime Minister John Briceño marked the occasion with a message emphasizing collaboration and progress. “As we reflect this Labour Day, the path forward lies in steady partnership—where advocacy, service, and development are held in thoughtful balance,” he said.

Briceño also extended well wishes to the public, adding, “Happy Labour Day to all workers and all Belize. Be safe as you seek to enjoy the long weekend.”

Labour Day is observed annually in Belize to honor the achievements of all workers.
