By Zoila Palma: The Belize High School of Agriculture has secured first place in the secondary division of the National School Garden Competition for the second consecutive year, as schools across the country were recognized during the National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS) 2026 opening ceremony in Belmopan.
The achievement reinforces the school’s continued leadership in agricultural education and youth participation in sustainable farming practices.
The Belize High School of Agriculture said, “We are proud and blessed to announce that we have secured 1st Place in the National High School Gardening Competition for the second consecutive year.”
“This outstanding achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of our entire school community,” the school added.
They extended appreciation to staff members, including the Agriculture Department led by Sergio Cal, Agriculture Coordinator Ernesto Pech, Alfredo Sabido, Leeana Cardenas, and farm attendant Martir Peraza.
The school also credited students, parents, and Principal Abel Celiz for their continued support, highlighting that teamwork remains central to its agricultural success.
