By Zoila Palma: A new police sub-station was officially inaugurated in San Narciso Village, Corozal District, today, October 29, strengthening citizen security and law enforcement services in northern Belize. The facility is expected to serve 13 surrounding communities and improve public safety for approximately 40,000 residents across rural Corozal.
The modern facility was funded under the Belize Integral Security Programme (BISP), a broader BZ$60 million initiative supported by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).
The sub-station includes dedicated spaces for a domestic violence unit, secure evidence storage and private interview rooms to support police operations and the handling of sensitive cases.
The inauguration marks an investment in strengthening police infrastructure and improving access to security services for communities in the Corozal District.
