By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Orange Walk have detained a man and a woman following the discovery of suspected cannabis during a search of their home in Guinea Grass Village.

Reports indicate that on April 29, officers executed a search warrant at the residence of 25-year-old Jason Julius Solis. Police say that upon arrival, the warrant was read to him and he denied having any illegal items on the premises.

However, during a search of the bedroom, officers discovered four plastic bags containing green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis inside a bag near the bed. The findings were shown to Solis and his common-law wife, who were both informed of the offence and taken into custody.

The suspected drugs were transported to the Orange Walk Police Station as part of the investigation.
