By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have formally arrested and charged a 28-year-old construction worker following a domestic altercation that left his common-law wife hospitalized in an unconscious condition.
The incident occurred around 11:10 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026, in the Lake Garden area in Ladyville, Belize District. Police say they responded to a report of a domestic dispute and met Marbin Yonel Ical, a Belizean construction worker, who reported that he and his common-law wife had been involved in an argument that later became physical.
Officers also observed his 29-year-old common-law wife, a Guatemalan national, with various injuries to her body. She was reportedly unresponsive at the scene and was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where she was admitted in an unconscious and unresponsive condition.
On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, police formally arrested and charged Ical with attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm.
Police investigations continue.
