The month is being recognized under the theme, “Moving from Surviving to Thriving”.
Mayor Earl Trapp of the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council along with Councilor Bernadette Fernandez led an Autism Awareness Walk today.
“It’s very important that we support and embrace people with disabilities. Show them love, care and attention. Teach them; they are capable of doing what any normal person can do,” Mayor Trapp said.
World Autism Awareness Day affirms and promotes the full realization of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for autistic people on an equal basis with others.
