By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the UNDP in Belize along with the United Nations Belize has convened and activated the #UnitedNations Emergency Technical Team.
The emergency team is being coordinated by the UN Resident Coordinator, the team joined by two representatives, deployed to Belize from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), are coordinating efforts to support the country and National Emergency Management Organization-NEMO response to Hurricane Beryl.
“#OneUNBelize remains committed to ensuring the country’s preparedness and response. We encourage all citizens to stay alert, follow updates from NEMO, and take necessary precautions,” a statement said.
