By Breaking Belize News Staff: Two Belize City teenagers accused of stealing and damaging a motorcycle, along with being equipped to commit theft, have been granted bail following their arraignment in the Magistrate’s Court.
Eighteen-year-old Kymarly Lanzar and 19-year-old Ashton Stevens appeared in Court #6 on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, before a Senior Magistrate.
The pair were jointly charged with theft and damage to property in relation to a white, black, and red 2026 Lifan 150 motorcycle, valued at $2,800. Police allege that the offenses occurred on April 18, 2026, in Belize City. Authorities further claim that the motorcycle sustained approximately $6,000 in damages, including to the left mirror, acceleration cable, cuffs, engine, and headset bearings.
Additionally, Lanzar was separately charged with going equipped to steal after he was allegedly found on 9th Street in the Kings Park area with a pair of pliers, suspected to be intended for use in committing theft.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to their respective charges. With no objection from the prosecution, bail was granted in the sum of $1,500 each, plus one surety of the same amount, which they were able to meet.
As part of their bail conditions, Lanzar and Stevens are required to stay at least 150 yards away from the virtual complainant. The court warned that any breach of these conditions could result in their bail being revoked.
The matter has been adjourned to June 10, 2026.
