By Zoila Palma: Throughout Child Stimulation Month, students learned more about the Belize Defence Force.
The Belize Defence Force, through the First Infantry Battalion, continued to strengthen ties with the communities by engaging and inspiring the next generation.
BDF soldiers visited several high schools across the Southern Area of Responsibility (STAOR) to participate in Career Day activities.
These visits included Julian Cho Technical High School, Toledo Community College, Providence Seventh Day Adventist High School, and Corazon Creek Technical High School.
Students were introduced to the roles, responsibilities, and opportunities within the BDF, including demonstrations of weapon systems, communication equipment, uniforms, and rank structure.
“These interactions aim to build trust, foster relationships, and motivate young Belizeans to pursue a meaningful career in service to their country.
The enthusiasm and interest shown by students highlight the importance of continued community engagement and mentorship,” the BDF expressed.
