By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belize continues to face sweltering conditions as the National Meteorological Service maintains a heat alert for inland areas, where temperatures are expected to peak at 99°F today. The sun remains relentless as dry and seasonably warm conditions dominate the country for yet another day.
Forecasters are calling for mostly sunny skies throughout the day and clear to partly cloudy conditions tonight. No rain is expected, prolonging the dry spell that has gripped much of the country since earlier this week.
Winds from the east to southeast are blowing at 10 to 20 knots, with moderate sea conditions and wave heights between four and six feet. Coastal areas can expect daytime highs around 90°F, while hilly regions will top out near 83°F.
With inland heat nearing dangerous levels, residents are once again being urged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor exposure, and avoid physical activity during the hottest hours of the afternoon. Health officials stress that children, the elderly, and outdoor workers face heightened risks during this stretch of extreme heat.
The outlook for Thursday suggests more of the same: fair, warm, and dry conditions will continue, though a slight increase in moisture is expected Thursday night, which may bring some relief.
