By Breaking Belize News Staff: Nineteen-year-old Sarah Martinez, a Honduran national residing in the Boca Del Rio area of San Pedro, has been fined $155 for resisting arrest. The incident occurred on May 5, 2025, on Laguna Drive, where Martinez reportedly resisted lawful detention by PC Lionel Perez.

Martinez pleaded guilty to the charge and was ordered to pay the fine immediately or face one month in prison.

This follows her appearance in court just a day earlier on two additional charges: obstructing a police officer and failing to produce a visitor’s permit. She was fined a total of $905 for those offenses but avoided jail time by settling the fines.
