By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 23-year-old woman from Guinea Grass Village, Orange Walk District, has reported a violent domestic incident involving her common-law husband.
According to reports, the incident occurred on April 19, 2026, around 7:00 p.m., when the woman stated that her partner, a 35-year-old who goes by Adonai, allegedly began acting aggressively after demanding food. She reported that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and threw rice at her while she was in the bathroom.
The situation escalated in the living room where the man allegedly broke a dresser mirror, picked up a shard, and threatened her. The woman further reported that in the bedroom he assaulted her, pulling her hair and repeatedly punching her to the head and face, causing injuries. During the incident, he also reportedly used a hair dryer to continue the attack.
The victim managed to leave the home with her child and made a report to police. She was later issued medico-legal forms, and her injuries were certified as harm.
Police have since launched an investigation, and the 35-year-old is being sought for aggravated assault and harm.
