By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 37 year old vendor of Santa Cruz Village has accepted liability after his pickup collided with a motorcycle on Dunn Street, Orange Walk Town.

According to the report, the driver was travelling from the direction of San Antonio Road toward Cinderella Street around 2pm on Thursday, behind a black motorcycle heading the same way.

He told police the motorcycle stopped on the extreme right of the road near a store, and as he continued forward, the cycle drove back into Dunn Street. He applied brakes but the pickup slid, and the left front bumper struck the motorcycle.

The cycle driver fell onto the paved road and received an abrasion to the left side of his back. His injury was later classified as harm.

The pickup received no damage. The motorcycle sustained a bent handle, bent rear rim and frame, a dislocated seat, a broken mirror, a bent brake lever and an engine cover leaking oil.

The pickup driver accepted liability and is willing to settle through insurance.

He was issued a Notice of Intended Prosecution and a traffic violation ticket for using an unlicensed motor vehicle and a class of vehicle not covered by his driver’s licence.
