By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 17 year old construction worker of Cotton Tree Village has been summoned to court on two traffic charges following a stop on Farmer Express Road.
Police say the Quick Response Team was conducting mobile patrol in the Cayo District around 6:55pm on Sunday, August 16, when officers noticed a male rider on a red motorcycle without a helmet.
The patrol turned on its revolving lights to signal him to stop and he complied.
When asked to produce his driver’s licence and documents for the motorcycle, he told officers he had neither insurance nor a licence for the cycle.
He was informed of the offences committed, cautioned, placed under arrest and escorted to the Roaring Creek Police Station, where he was detained pending charges.
A summons to a defendant upon information or complaint was served. He is to answer charges of use of a motor vehicle not covered by third party risk insurance and use of an unlicensed motor vehicle.
He was due in court on Thursday, August 20 at 9am.
