National Institute of Culture and History and National Creole Council discuss opportunities for new collaboration

By Zoila Palma:  On Monday, April 20, 2026, the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) received a courtesy visit from the leadership of the National Creole Council.

The visit was led by newly appointed NICH President, Albert Vaughan.

Joining him were Deputy Mayor and NICH Administrator Eluide Miller, culture adviser Yasser Musa, and Rolando Cocom, Director of the Institute for Social and Cultural Research.

Representing the National Creole Council were Wilford Felix – President; Crysel Gabourel Moro – Vice President; Selene Solis – Treasurer; and Moralie Young – Secretary.

Discussions included exploring new collaborations that will advance the promotion and safeguarding of Belize’s Kriol history and heritage.

“We look forward to building on this partnership in service of our culture and people,” NICH said.
