By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 38-year-old Orange Walk man has been charged following a domestic violence incident involving his former partner and her teenage
daughter.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred shortly after midnight on April 29, when the man allegedly entered a bedroom at his residence under the influence of alcohol and began verbally abusing a 15-year-old girl.
The child’s mother reportedly intervened, but was punched in the face. The suspect then allegedly pulled the teenager by her hair and struck her, leading to a struggle during which both victims were injured.
Police say the suspect fled the scene after the teenager called for help. Statements were later recorded from both victims, and medical examinations classified their injuries as harm.
The suspect has since been detained and formally charged with two counts of harm.
