62

By Zoila Palma:  Today, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing (MIDH) notified all car dealers, taxi operators, vehicle owners, and any other persons or entities currently utilizing or occupying the road reserve in the vicinity of the Belcan Bridge that the area must be cleared to facilitate the upcoming construction of the new Belcan Bridge.

This includes the portion of land on Central American Boulevard in front of Save U Supermarket and the portion of land on Central American Boulevard in front of Hope Center and the individuals using the road reserve on the Philip Goldson Highway adjacent to Comex Paint.

The MIDH said that all vehicles, equipment, structures, and any other materials located within the road reserve must be removed, and the area vacated no later than May 7, 2026.

This action is necessary to ensure:

  • The safe and efficient commencement of construction activities
  • Unobstructed access for contractors and machinery; and
  • The safety of the general public during the execution of works.

The Ministry thanks everyone in advance for your patience, cooperation and understanding as we undertake this important infrastructure improvement project.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the project, please feel free to contact 614-3195.
