By Zoila Palma: Today, on the Global Day of Parents, the Ministry of Human Development celebrates the love, sacrifice, guidance, and dedication of parents, guardians, grandparents, and caregivers across Belize.
“Families come in many forms, but at the heart of every strong family is someone who provides care, support, protection, and encouragement. Whether raising children, supporting older relatives, or caring for loved ones through life’s challenges, caregivers play a vital role in building stronger homes, stronger communities, and a stronger Belize,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry of Human Development, Family Support and Gender Affairs says that it recognizes that supporting parents and caregivers is essential to strengthening families.
Through the work of the Family Support and Gender Affairs Department, the Department of Human Services, and the Community Rehabilitation Department, the Ministry provide services and programmes that promote family well-being, child protection, positive parenting, social support, and community resilience.
“Today, we honour all those who dedicate themselves to caring for others. Your commitment, compassion, and sacrifices help shape lives, nurture potential, and create the foundation for a more caring and inclusive society,” the Ministry expressed.
