By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Dangriga Town have charged a man following a mobile patrol that resulted in a brief chase along Melinda Road.
According to reports, around 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, an officer, along with a corporal, was conducting patrol duties when his attention was drawn to a man riding a green Lifan motorcycle.
The officer signaled for the rider to stop; however, the individual reportedly sped off, prompting a pursuit along Melinda Road. During the chase, the rider lost control of the motorcycle and was intercepted.
Upon being approached, the individual was asked to produce a driver’s license, insurance disc, and license sticker but was unable to provide any of the documents.
He was subsequently informed of the offences committed and later arrested and charged with driving an unlicensed motor vehicle, driving without a valid driver’s license, and driving a motor vehicle not covered by third-party risk insurance.
