By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police conducted a checkpoint operation along the George Price Highway in Succotz Village on Tuesday morning, resulting in multiple traffic violations and one arrest.
Reports indicate that between 8:50 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on April 14, 2026, officers from the Road Policing Unit and Succotz Police carried out a vehicle checkpoint at the entrance of the village. The operation focused on intercepting illegal immigrants, unlicensed firearms, wanted persons, drugs, and traffic offences.
During the exercise, approximately 120 vehicles were physically inspected.
As a result, six traffic violation tickets were issued for offences including defective brake lights, failure to display an insurance disc, and operating a motorcycle without a rear-view mirror.
Additionally, a 54-year-old man from Succotz Village was arrested and charged for driving a motor vehicle not covered by third-party risk insurance.
Police reported that aside from the violations and arrest, the operation concluded without incident.
