July opens with fair and warm weather in Belize

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belize is easing into the new month on a bright note, as mainly fair and warm weather welcomes the first of July.

According to the National Meteorological Service, skies will be mostly sunny today and partly cloudy tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated, with only a low chance for a few more over the extreme south tonight.

Temperatures along the coast will reach a high of 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) and a low of 82 (28 Celsius). Inland areas will be hotter, climbing to 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius) and dropping to 74 (23 Celsius). In the hills, expect a high of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and a cooler low of 68 (20 Celsius).

At sea, winds will blow from the east at 10 to 15 knots, with choppy seas and waves of 3 to 5 feet.

On the tropical front, there is good news to start the month. No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the region during the next 48 hours.

Looking ahead to Thursday and Thursday night, the mainly fair and warm weather will continue, with only isolated showers or isolated thunderstorms developing.

Today’s high tides are at 10:21 AM and 11:57 PM, with a low tide at 5:55 PM and another low at 4:48 AM tomorrow. The sun rose at 5:21 AM and will set at 6:31 PM. The forecast was issued by forecaster Derrick Rudon.
