By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Defending champions Jewel Fury FC delivered a stunning performance in Week Three of the Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB), dismantling Cayo Dreamers FC with an emphatic 7-0 victory in a match played on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Santa Elena Sports Complex in San Ignacio-Santa Elena, Cayo.
From the opening whistle, Khalydia Velasquez set the tone, scoring in the 2nd, 12th, and 42nd minutes to secure a hat-trick. Kursha Pollard further punished Cayo Dreamers with goals in the 52nd and 67th minutes, while Shanay Nasario rounded out the scoring with strikes in the 56th and 69th minutes.
This dominant display ensures Jewel Fury FC remains tied in points at the top with Sagitun Girlz FC on 7 points after three matches, with a strong +9 goal difference from 12 goals scored and 3 conceded. However, the Sagitun GIRLZ hold the top position on goal difference as they sport a +11 differential.
Meanwhile, the Cayo Dreamers FC continue to struggle, remaining at the bottom of the standings without any points and a -17 goal difference after conceding 19 goals while scoring just 2.
With their confidence soaring, Jewel Fury FC will aim to maintain their winning streak in the upcoming matches.
Incidentally, Jewel Fury reported an 8-0 victory on Sunday evening via their Facebook page, but the FFB confirmed that both the referee’s and match commissioner’s reports state 7-0.
