By Zoila Palma: FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Football Federation of Belize (FFB) President Sergio Chuc were present at matches during the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026 in Azerbaijan on October 28, where Belize’s Under-15 Boys National Football Team had the opportunity to meet Infantino.
The young footballers took photographs with the FIFA president, who shared words of encouragement with Team Belize as they represent the country on the international stage.
Fourteen players from the FFB’s Under-15 Boys National Football Team are participating in the international football festival, which runs from October 24 to 30.
The team was selected from more than 30 young footballers from across Belize who competed for a place on the final roster. With only 14 players permitted per team, the selection process was challenging, and the FFB acknowledged the efforts of all players who participated.
The tournament and festival are providing Belize’s young athletes with valuable international exposure, allowing them to compete against teams from different countries, experience different styles of play and develop their football skills.
The FFB says the experience has given the players countless memories and opportunities to grow both on and off the field.
