By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): An 18-year-old driver has been detained following a traffic accident along the Phillip Goldson Highway near San Pablo Village, Orange Walk.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred around 7:25 a.m. on April 29, when Einer Joaquin Arcurio was attempting to make a U-turn. He reported that after allowing one vehicle to pass, he proceeded to turn but was struck by an oncoming motorcycle.
The collision caused damage to the vehicle and left the motorcycle driver with minor injuries to the knees and upper body. Police responded to the scene, where a sketch was drawn and statements recorded.
Arcurio reportedly accepted fault for the accident and was detained for driving without due care and attention, obstructing the free flow of traffic, and failing to give way when entering a major road. He was later served with a notice of intended prosecution and released.
