By Zoila Palma: The Climate Finance Unit within the Ministry of Economic Transformation is preparing to host its second National Climate Finance Forum, scheduled to take place in Punta Gorda on August 20, 2026, during Climate Change Week.
The Ministry noted that the forum will focus on Belize’s ongoing efforts to address the impacts of climate change on communities and livelihoods across the country.
The event is also expected to highlight the nation’s achievements in securing and utilizing climate financing for sustainable development initiatives.
This year’s forum will be held under the theme, “Leveraging Climate Finance to Strengthen Belize’s Orange Economy, Indigenous-led Climate Action and Community Resilience.”
The forum will also provide an opportunity for Belize to showcase its pipeline of climate financing projects and continue discussions with development partners and stakeholders involved in climate adaptation and mitigation efforts.
The Climate Finance Unit is collaborating with the National Climate Change Office in organizing the event and will participate in activities planned for Climate Change Week.
