Caye Caulker hair stylist fined over $500 for crack pipe and cocaine possession

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 34-year-old hair stylist and mother from Caye Caulker was fined a total of $530 after pleading guilty to drug-related offenses in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.

Holles Cassarine Haylock, a hair braider, admitted to possessing an undetermined amount of crack cocaine along with a silver crack pipe found in her bedroom during a police search on September 2. Although she claimed the drugs belonged to her partner and that she no longer uses drugs, Haylock took full responsibility in court.

Senior Magistrate of Court #2 fined her $300 for possession of cocaine and $230 for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both fines must be paid by late November or she faces up to four months in prison.

Police said Haylock was detained after officers discovered a black tin box containing the drugs and pipe inside her home during a search conducted under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
