By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizean welders looking to strengthen their professional credentials have an opportunity to undergo industry qualification through a programme being offered by STEM U Foundation.
The foundation is providing welding training and qualification according to American Welding Society (AWS) standards, targeting professional welders and companies seeking to validate technical skills.
The programme offers qualification in all welding positions using three processes: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), commonly known as Stick welding; Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), or MIG welding; and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), also known as TIG welding.
Participants can qualify in welding involving carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
Individual qualification costs BZ$900, while companies and groups can request customized pricing.
To accommodate working professionals, qualification sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday after 5:00 p.m.
The initiative provides an opportunity for welders to demonstrate their skills against recognized industry standards and for employers to assess the technical abilities of their workforce.
Interested individuals can register through the foundation’s online form at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/JUfvmQnnJs.
Additional information is available through WhatsApp at +501 611-9616.
