By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can look forward to a day of mostly sunny skies and clear to partly cloudy conditions tonight, as forecasted by the National Meteorological Service of Belize. The general situation across the country is characterized by fair and relatively dry conditions, with little to no rain expected in the next 24 hours.
In terms of marine conditions, sailors and fishermen can expect east to southeast winds at 5 to 10 knots, creating a light chop on the sea with wave heights ranging from 2 to 4 feet. This makes for favorable conditions for maritime activities along Belize’s coast.
Temperature-wise, coastal areas will experience highs of around 84°F (29°C) and lows of 76°F (24°C). Inland areas will see slightly warmer temperatures, with highs reaching 87°F (31°C) and nighttime lows dropping to 68°F (20°C). Meanwhile, in the hills, temperatures are expected to range between a cooler 72°F (22°C) during the day and 61°F (16°C) at night.
Looking ahead to Thursday and Thursday night, the forecast predicts mainly fair conditions with isolated showers. This continuation of generally pleasant weather is good news for outdoor activities and events planned across the country.
Today’s tidal movements will see a low tide at 9:17 AM, followed by a high tide at 3:11 PM, and another low tide at 10:07 PM. Tomorrow’s high tide is expected at 3:38 AM. The sun will rise this morning at 6:23 AM and will set at 5:30 PM, while the moon will set at 11:30 AM today and will rise again at midnight.
Forecaster Tareek Matthews notes that these conditions are typical for this time of year in Belize and encourages residents and visitors to enjoy the pleasant weather while staying prepared for any unexpected changes.
