Belize City man shot at high noon in Lake I

By Aaron Humes: Another shooting was reported in Belize City earlier this afternoon.

At about 12:35 p.m., 19-year-old Maximilliano Jones was walking on Nicholas Street from the direction of La Croix Boulevard and heading towards Giles Street, Belize City. Upon reaching in front of a residence at the corner of Nicholas and Giles Street, a black, heavily tinted Mitsubishi SUV passed him and stopped about 30 feet away.

A tall, medium-built, dark-skinned male passenger with dreadlocks exited the left rear passenger seat and fired several shots towards Jones. The house where Jones was received six bullet holes.

Jones was admitted in a stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

Police have named and identified two suspects as part of their continuing investigations.
