By Zoila Palma: On July 6, 2026, Oscar Arnold, CEO in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, met with Cuba’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, on the sidelines of the 51st Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in Saint Lucia.
The meeting, held during the July 5–8 summit, focused on Cuba’s current energy and economic challenges, ongoing engagement at the United Nations, and opportunities to strengthen regional cooperation between Belize, Cuba, and CARICOM member states.
