By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A woman in San Isidro Village says a late-night argument with her husband turned terrifying, ending with a death threat that drove her from her own home.
According to the Belize Police Department, the 46-year-old woman visited the Bella Vista Police Station on Monday, July 6, 2026, to report the incident. She told police that on the night of Sunday, July 5, at around 10:30 p.m., she was at home sleeping in her hammock when her husband started an argument with her over their house.
During the confrontation, she reported, he also accused her of being unfaithful, which she denied. The situation then escalated. She told police her husband chased her out of the house while aggressively uttering the words “I will kill you,” leaving her in fear for her life.
Police recorded a statement from the complainant, and a 55-year-old man was detained in connection with the report. The matter remains under investigation, and no charges have been reported at this time.
