Orange Walk man caught with stolen Cock cheese

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police have charged a man in connection with a theft at a store in Orange Walk Town.

Reports indicate that on Saturday, April 18, around 6:40 pm, a 55 year old shop owner was inside his business located on Baker’s Street when a male person entered carrying a yellow bag.

The individual reportedly went to an aisle, took a Cock branded Dutch cheese valued at $48, placed it inside the bag, and exited the store without paying.

The shop owner alerted a police officer who was on duty at the establishment. The officer conducted a search and recovered the item inside the bag.

The suspect was identified as a 31 year old Belizean laborer.

The cheese was labeled as an exhibit and photographed, and store surveillance footage was retrieved as part of the investigation.

On April 20, police formally arrested and charged the accused for the crime of theft.
