By Aaron Humes: A bus driver faced daytime robbery when he was held at gunpoint near a bus stop on East Canal. The incident occurred around 4:20 PM after the driver parked his bus at the Regent Street West junction.
The driver had stepped behind his bus when he was approached by two men, both described as dark-complexioned and medium-built, dressed entirely in black. One of the assailants brandished what appeared to be a black firearm while the other forcibly restrained him, snatching his black waist bag, which contained $400 in various denominations.
Following the incident, both robbers fled the scene on foot, heading up West Canal toward Water Lane.
Police are investigating.
