By Horace Palacio: Belize will experience marginally moist conditions today with sunny skies and some cloudy spells expected throughout the day. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, a few showers are likely, mainly over coastal areas, while inland regions remain mostly dry.
Marine conditions are forecast to be choppy, with east-northeast winds blowing at 5-15 knots. Wave heights will range from 3 to 5 feet, providing fair conditions for marine activities, though operators of small vessels are advised to remain vigilant.
Temperatures will be warm and comfortable. Coastal areas will see daytime highs of 84°F (29°C) and nighttime lows of 76°F (24°C). Inland areas will be slightly warmer, with highs reaching 86°F (30°C) and cooling to 72°F (22°C) overnight. In the hills, temperatures will range from a high of 74°F (23°C) to a low of 65°F (18°C).
Looking ahead, Wednesday is expected to bring generally isolated showers, with a slight increase in activity anticipated on Wednesday night. This gradual shift suggests that wetter conditions may return to some areas of the country later in the week.
Today’s tidal schedule includes a high tide at 10:05 AM, a low tide at 2:52 PM, and another high tide at 9:12 PM. Tomorrow’s early low tide is forecast for 4:35 AM. Sunrise occurred at 6:25 AM, and sunset is scheduled for 5:45 PM. The moon will set at 5:07 PM today and rise again at 6:39 AM tomorrow.
Forecaster Ronald Gordon advises residents and visitors to prepare for occasional coastal showers while enjoying the generally fair weather. Those planning marine activities should monitor conditions as winds and waves remain moderately choppy.
