By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In a thrilling conclusion to the Corozal Football Association Women’s First Division Championship, Corozal Elite FC emerged victorious over Strikers PC 3-2, but Strikers’ Christel Tzul was voted the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). The intense final match, held Sunday at Carolina Football Field, saw Corozal Elite FC claim the title along with a trophy, medals, and a grand cash prize of $2000, sponsored by Thea Ramirez Corozal Bay.
Tzul was a standout performer throughout the tournament, earning the MVP Award for her exceptional skills and contributions on the field. Tzul also secured the Best Midfielder award, highlighting her pivotal role for Strikers PC FC.
Individual awards were presented to:
- Most Valuable Player & Best Midfielder: Christel Tzul
- Best Goalkeeper: Aniyah Cocom
- Best Defender: Ximena Flores
- Best Forward: Pricilla Villamil
- Top Goal Scorer: Alisha Terry
- Best Coach: Raigen Cano
- Fair Play Award: Libertad Hit Squad
