By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Vital Statistics Unit has announced a temporary closure of its offices in Belize City, Corozal, San Ignacio, and Punta Gorda. This two-week closure will allow for staff digitalization training as a new system is being put in place to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of their services.

The offices will be closed from Monday, January 13 to Friday, January 24, 2025. During this period, the Vital Statistics Unit will focus on training its staff to navigate and utilize the new digital system effectively. This initiative is part of the unit’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations and provide better service to the public.

The offices in the affected municipalities are scheduled to reopen on Monday, January 27, 2025.

The Vital Statistics Unit appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this transition period and looks forward to serving the community with improved and more efficient services once the training is completed.

Residents in need of vital statistics services are encouraged to plan accordingly and utilize the unit’s services before the closure or after the reopening.
