Institute of Creative Arts focuses on Orange Economy at Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Conference

By Zoila Palma:  During the Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Conference being hosted this week in Belize, Kim Vasquez, Director of the Institute of Creative Arts, participated in a dynamic panel discussion titled “Orange Economy in Action: How Belize is Using Culture and Creativity to Shape Its Tourism Brand.”

Vasquez highlighted Belize’s strategic efforts to leverage its rich cultural heritage, artistic expression, and creative industries as key drivers of sustainable tourism development.

The discussion explored how initiatives across music, visual arts, festivals, and heritage preservation are being integrated into the national tourism offering, strengthening Belize’s global identity while creating economic opportunities for local creatives and communities.

The National Institute of Culture and History congratulates Director Vasquez on her contributions.
