By Breaking Belize News Staff: Nineteen-year-old Adam Abraham Reynolds, accused of participating in a violent home invasion in Burrell Boom Village in which a businessman was tied up at gunpoint and robbed of nearly $90,000 in cash and valuables, has been granted bail by the High Court.
Reynolds, a labourer of Vista Del Mar, Ladyville, appeared before Justice Candace Nanton on Friday, November 6, 2026, after spending 16 days on remand at the Belize Central Prison.
His attorney, Norman Rodriguez, successfully applied for bail after the prosecution, representing the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, raised no objection.
Justice Nanton granted Reynolds bail in the sum of $8,000, with two sureties of $4,000 each, subject to several conditions.
Reynolds must report to the Burrell Boom Police Station every Friday, surrender his travel documents, refrain from contacting the complainant directly or indirectly, and remain at least 100 yards away from him. He must also attend all scheduled court appearances and avoid being arrested and charged with any new offences while on bail.
As previously reported by Breaking Belize News, Reynolds was charged with aggravated burglary following an October 14 home invasion at El Chiclero Resort in Burrell Boom Village.
Police allege that four men entered the residence of a 53-year-old businessman around 4:50 a.m., assaulted him, restrained him with duct tape and ransacked his home.
The intruders reportedly escaped with $30,000 in cash, gold chains valued at $12,000, electronic equipment and a 2017 Toyota Rush SUV valued at $45,000. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at $89,900.
Police subsequently located the stolen SUV in Santa Familia Village, Cayo District, on October 15. Investigators allege that Reynolds was inside the vehicle when officers approached, but he sped away before crashing and abandoning it.
Reynolds later surrendered to police in the presence of an attorney on October 19 and was arraigned the following day.
His next court appearance is scheduled for December 9, 2026.
Reynolds remains accused of aggravated burglary and has not been convicted.
