By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Saturday morning in Panama City marks a crucial moment for Belize’s Sagitun GIRLZ FC as they face El Salvador’s Alianza Women in their second group-stage match of the 2025 UNCAF Women’s Interclub Championship.
After a narrow 3–2 defeat to Panama’s Chorrillo FC on Thursday, the Sagitun GIRLZ return to the pitch with renewed determination. Shante Chacon’s equalizer in the 63rd minute and Jolene Aranda’s injury-time goal represent Sagitun’s fighting spirit, despite falling short in their opener.
Next Challenge: Alianza Women
Alianza, runners-up in last year’s tournament, are also seeking redemption after a 2–0 loss to Nicaragua’s Real Estelí. Saturday’s clash at COS Sports Plaza kicks off at 9:15 am Panama time (8:15 am Belize) and could prove decisive for Sagitun’s hopes of advancing to the knockout round for the first time.
