By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in the Orange Walk District are investigating a report of sexual assault made by a woman against a co-worker.
According to the Belize Police Department, the 35-year-old complainant, of Carmelita Village, visited the Orange Walk Police Station to make the report. She told police that on Sunday, June 26, 2026, she was carrying out promotional work for a company in San Estevan Village alongside a male co-worker.
The woman reported that later that day, while she was travelling as a passenger in a company vehicle from San Estevan Village toward the company’s main office in Carmelita Village, she was sexually assaulted by the co-worker, who was seated beside her.
Police recorded a statement from the complainant. A witness was located but reportedly declined to give a statement. The matter remains under investigation, and police have identified a man they are looking to speak with in connection with the report.
