By Aaron Humes: The National Celebrations Commission has issued congratulations to the winners of the National Song Competition 2024, held Friday night at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts.
Leading the field is Wilson Grinage, who won the first place prize of $20,000 for the National Song Competition with his performance of “Until Forever.” The Commission said, “His incredible talent and dedication to his craft made his performance truly unforgettable.”
Fast-rising punta artiste Hubee earned second place, and Echo Middleton took third place with his remarkable entry.
All seven talented finalists including one woman made this year’s competition one for the books, the Commission concluded: “Their creativity, passion, and dedication to Belizean music are truly inspiring!”
The next major event on the Celebrations calendar is the Queen of the Bay Pageant next Saturday, August 24.
