By Zoila Palma: On March 19, 2026, the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) proudly supported the realisation and launch of the WILD501 exhibition and preservation project, celebrating the extraordinary legacy of Carol and Richard Foster.
Their work has captured Belize’s “wild heart” and elevated our natural heritage on the global stage.
“Through the digitisation of their extensive archive and the creation of new works, this initiative ensures that their contributions to conservation and filmmaking continue to educate and inspire,” NICH said.
Prime Minister John Briceño and Francis Fonseca, Minister of Culture, presented awards of appreciation to Carol and Richard Foster for their outstanding impact in conservation and filmmaking.
“By blending art, science, and history, this project stands as a powerful reminder that culture and conservation go hand in hand—because culture is WHO and WHAT we are—and that this legacy will remain in motion for generations to come,” NICH added.
