By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Friday could turn wet across several parts of Belize as showers and thunderstorms spread from coastal areas into the rest of the country.
The morning forecast from the National Meteorological Service says moist and unstable conditions continue over the area.
Rainfall activity will initially be concentrated along the coast and offshore, where a few showers, thunderstorms and periods of light rain are expected.
By midday, however, showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop around the country.
Inland areas will see the hottest temperatures today, reaching around 92 degrees Fahrenheit, while coastal communities can expect highs near 85 degrees. Temperatures in the hills will peak near 78 degrees.
Conditions should improve somewhat tonight, with generally isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Looking ahead to Saturday, forecasters expect cloudy periods and mostly isolated showers or thunderstorms, although coastal areas could see additional activity during the morning. Southern Belize has a higher chance for showers Saturday night.
Forecasters are also tracking Tropical Storm Fay and Tropical Storm Gonzalo in the Atlantic, but both systems are currently no threat to Belize.
