By Zoila Palma:  Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are monitoring two areas of disturbed weather over the Atlantic Ocean, with both systems showing potential for tropical development in the coming days.

One system is located northeast of Bermuda, while the other is several hundred miles south-southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands.

The first system AL95 is associated with a broad area of low pressure several hundred miles northeast of Bermuda.

It is moving north-northeastward at approximately 15 to 20 miles per hour, but its shower activity remains disorganized.

The NHC noted that the system could briefly develop into a tropical depression or tropical storm before encountering unfavorable conditions by early Wednesday.

The second system, AL96, is located in the eastern tropical Atlantic and is producing showers and thunderstorms around a low-pressure area south-southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands.

Forecasters say environmental conditions around AL96 appear favorable for gradual development, and the system could become a tropical depression within the next day or two as it moves westward to west-northwestward across the Atlantic.

AL96 has a 70 percent chance of development over both the next 48 hours and 7 days.
