By Zoila Palma:  The Government of Belize and the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) signed loan and grant agreements on October 26, 2026, for a US$3.62 million Schools Infrastructure Development Project aimed at improving educational facilities at three schools across the country.

The project will benefit St. Francis Xavier R.C. Primary and Pre-Primary School in Corozal Town, San Antonio Government School in Corozal District, and Our Lady of Guadalupe R.C. Primary School in Belmopan.

The investment will support the development of climate-resilient and inclusive school infrastructure, including improved classrooms, sanitation facilities and accessibility.

The project will also provide support for learning materials, technology and teacher development to help improve the learning environment for students and educators.

Implementation will be carried out through the Belize Social Investment Fund (SIF) as part of the CDF’s Third Funding Cycle, covering 2024 to 2028.
