The panel “Returning to the Origins of Our Relationship with Land and Sea Stewardship,” highlighted indigenous, spiritual, and culturally rooted approaches to caring for Belize’s land and seas honouring the women who carry this wisdom and lead conservation efforts across the country.
“As a Partner of the 2025 IWIC Summit, BIOFIN helped elevate women’s leadership in biodiversity, climate resilience, and the blue and green economy. The Summit brought together over 150 local and international experts for plenaries, keynotes, trainings, and a marketplace showcasing women-led enterprises,” a statement explained.
BIOFIN’s participation reinforces its commitment to gender-responsive biodiversity finance, private sector engagement, and stronger climate–biodiversity linkages key pillars of Belize’s sustainability pathway.
