By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Two men from Palmar Village have been jointly charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply after police found suspected cocaine on their motorcycle early Saturday morning.
Travis Patt, 21, and Henry Torres, 43, both labourers of Palmar Village, were charged in connection with 1.68 grams of suspected cocaine.
According to police, around 3:20am on Saturday, October 31, officers attached to the Burglary Team were on patrol on Santa Barbara Street in Palmar Village when they noticed two men on a black motorcycle acting suspiciously and repeatedly looking back at the police mobile.
Officers signalled the driver to stop. A search of both men turned up nothing, but police say a search of the motorcycle uncovered four small transparent Ziploc bags with skull markings, each containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
Both men were cautioned and taken to the Orange Walk Police Station, where the drugs were weighed and sealed in their presence.
They were formally charged the same day and both chose to remain silent.
Torres was also separately charged with possession of 0.14 grams of suspected cocaine found in his pocket during the same early morning encounter.
