Tropical Depression Chris batters Eastern Mexico with heavy rainfall and flooding

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Tropical depression Chris is producing heavy rainfall over parts of Eastern Mexico causing flooding in several areas.

As of this morning, Chris was located some 60 miles South Southwest of Tuxpan, Mexico.

Chris is moving toward the west near 12 mph (19 km/h), and this motion will continue until the system dissipates.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.

Chris is forecast to dissipate over the higher terrain later this morning.
