By Rubén Morales Iglesias: On Thursday, August 29, the Toledo Agriculture Department, in collaboration with the Toledo Public Service Union, welcomed 20 enthusiastic children to the Toledo Agriculture Station. The children’s visit is part of a series of back-to-school activities designed to foster youth engagement in agriculture.
During their visit, the children explored the horticulture, poultry, and livestock units, where they gained hands-on experience and valuable insights into sustainable farming practices. This immersive experience aims to spark their interest in agriculture and demonstrate the importance of sustainable practices in food production.
This initiative, under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE), is a key component of an ongoing effort to inspire the next generation to consider careers in agriculture and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the agricultural community. By providing these young minds with practical knowledge and exposure to the agricultural sector, the Toledo Agriculture Department hopes to cultivate a future generation of informed and passionate agricultural professionals.
